Modern dairy farms ask for tried and tested, practical and flexible milking parlour systems. Herringbone milking parlours have been proving their efficiency for decades now while going through constant development for improvement and optimisation.

Animal Positioning
Optimum animal positioning is important for easy access and good visibility of the udder during milking. Wide and animal-friendly cow standings and push-button pneumatic gates help to maximise cow throughput by encouraging fast entry and exit of the cows and reduce operator routine times.

The EuroClass 800/850 parlour, originally designed in the UK to suit the requirements of the British market, offers an extremely robust 50 degree stalling for optimum operator efficiency and maximum parlour performance. Compared with the more traditional 3'- or metre-centre design, the shorter length between cows helps to reduce the operator's travelling distances, and the cluster position for rear-leg milking is improved.

The Magnum 40 herringbone parlour has been designed for 24-hour operations requiring highest stability and reliability.
Magnum 40 is particularly comfortable for operator and animal, with emphasis on operator safety in combination with the highest possible throughput - independent of herd size.

Rapid Exit
For those wanting faster throughputs while maintaining a high level of contact and visibility of their cows, the EuroClass 800 RE and Global 45 offer a choice of rapid exit herringbone parlours: the breast rail is lifted up after milking so that all cows leave the parlour simultaneously. The 50-degree angle of the EuroClass 800 RE means that, in common with the EuroClass 800/850, clusters are applied between the rear legs, whilst with the Global 45, the longer distance between units allows space for the milking cluster to be applied from the front.

Herringbone - EuroClass 800 and 850

The herringbone parlours EuroClass 800 and 850 are designed for fast throughput. The short distance between stalls reduces walking for cows and operators, whilst wider cow standings are obstruction-free for faster cow movement. The double offset semi-cranked rump ensures cows are optimally located for effective cluster position and allows the operator easy access to the udder.

The EuroClass 800 and 850 can be installed as doubled up (one unit per stall) or swingover (one unit per two stalls) parlours.

What is the difference between the EuroClass 800 and the EuroClass 850?
The EuroClass 800 is the true 50-degree herringbone parlour designed for high throughputs and for milking comfortably through the rear legs.

The EuroClass 850 is designed to directly replace existing Autotandem and some old designs of Herringbone parlour that have cow standings widths of 1800 mm or for installation in buildings that are too narrow for the EuroClass 800 stalls. In this parlour the cows are positioned at approximately 45 degrees with slightly different stalling dimensions. In all other aspects, the two versions are identical and share similar benefits.

The EuroClass 800 RE is simply a rapid exit version of the successful and highly popular EuroClass 800 50-degree herringbone parlour. The herringbone design of the EuroClass 800 RE means that the operator had greater visibility and access to the cow during milking than with the side-by-side Global 90i rapid exit. Along with the standard EuroClass 800 rump rails and entry gates, the EuroClass 800 features a cantilevered, compressed-air operated breast rail. Manufactured from 2" galvanised steel, the cranked upper rail ensures the cow moves correctly into the stall for optimum cluster position, whilst the straight lower rail adds further strength for maximum durability.

Good solid design for milking to the front
The fast-exit herringbone parlour Global 45 suits larger family businesses and commercial operations with focus on higher throughputs.

The Global 45 is particularly friendly to both operator and animal. The operator has an excellent view of the cow due to the long spacing (1150mm) between units - milking clusters are applied from the front providing excellent milking characteristics. This can be further enhanced with PosiMax or ComfortArm with Metatron support arms. The cows are securely positioned in the stalls to give them a high level of comfort. the workplace is safe for the operator and the throughput is outstanding.

Open Entry
The cows reach their milking places quickly, comfortably and without any stress. Once the last animal has reached its place, the entry gate closes flush with the last milking stall and the whole group is properly positioned. Subsequent animals are ready and waiting to enter the parlour.

Benefits of Group Indexing
The breast rail gently indexes the cow back towards the operator after the whole row has been filled. This enables the operator to easily compensate for different-sized cows in each row without affecting cow comfort and batch times.

Rapid Exit
Large pneumatic cylinders ensure smooth fast lifting and lowering of the breast rail during the exit cycle.

Manure Shields
The solid angled manure shields fit to the back of the cow nicely. The cows have all-important space and freedom of movement, thus promoting relaxed milking and optimum milk yield.
